This vintage American LaFrance Fire Engine Company sign was given to me because I like all things French. I am not, however, into fire engines so am willing to part with it! I truly do not know anything about it, but am guessing that it was originally affixed to one of their fire engines. It measures 14 ½" long and the capital letters are 2 ½" high. It is made of a rather flexible metal and the letters on both ends are a bit bent. T is rust at the bottom of the capital L and also on the back. T are 4 round appendages on the back that have dents and one straight piece coming out from the capital F that should have a round appendage. I assume that they held the sign to the engine. I think this would make a great Fatherâe(tm)s Day present for your favorite firefighter!
