VINTAGE - AMERICAN LIMOGES, CHINA - 53 PC SET - CHATEAU FRANCE Up for bid is a beautiful set of china consisting of 53 pieces made by American Limoges, pattern Chateau France. It is a set with 8 full place settings, a platter, serving bowl, creamer and sugar bowl with lid. This set, from an estate, had been a wedding present in the late 1930's and if it was ever used, one could never tell. Each dish has heavy gold filigree around all the edges in 22 KT. Gold. The gold looks brand new. Usually, if dishes have had a lot of use, the gold has worn off in places due to normal use and washing. T is a scene painted in the middle of each plate and bowl all relating to a French Chateau in the country. The scene in the serving platter and the dinner plates shows a man with a horse pulling a wagon in the water below the hill w the chateau is sitting. The words Le Maitre are written on each dinner plate. The bread/salad plates, dessert bowls, and saucers have a couple walking by the water with their reflection and the reflection of the chateau in the pond. On the creamer, sugar bowl and inside of the cups is another view of a couple walking by the water. In the soup bowl is a couple sitting under a tree looking at the chateau on the hill.
