This is a great item, an animatronic oil well pumping unit. It was given as an award in 1983 to someone apparently in the oil industry. The brass plate glued to the side reads "Lefty, Southwestern Division - TOC 1983". This plate could be easily removed and replaced by another at any trophy shop. The oil well pump is made of metal, with an antique bronze finish, and it actually works! T is a small button that activates 2 batteries inside, and the head pumps up and down like a real oil pump. The beautiful dark wooden base measures 9" X 5" and to the top of the pump it is approximately 9 ". This would make a wonderful gift for someone in the oil business, or for yourself, it would be a great conversation piece for your desk. The craftsmanship of the pump itself is exquisite, showing many small details. I have installed 2 new batteries, and it is ready to go! Please contact me with any questions, and good luck in bidding!
