This old Camel shaped teapot has all the bells and whistles- approx. 10" x 6 7/8" at longest and highest points, it has great painted relief detail, a sturdy, intact bamboo handle, an open handle "knob" and vent hole on the lid, and tea leaf strainer holes inside. This vintage or antique piece is from about the turn of the century and apparently copies a popular c1750 Staffordshire camel style teapot- when I acquired this it had a picture of that very old teapot inside which I will include for you. In very good condition with what only appears to be imperfections from when it was made- two very small shallow "chip" shapes on under lip area of lid and opening do not detract, nor look like actual chips to me. One larger shallow "chip" under and between the right foot and neck area cannot be seen from above (see pic), and again, I think it could just be a manufacturing flaw. No cracks. Probably from Japan. PS- if you collect Camels, I have another listed... !!! IMPORTANT NOTE- *If you are the winner, please pay by 5/28 so I can ship before I leave on a trip 5/29- thanx!!!
