You are bidding on, what I believe to be, a 1924 Crosley Model 51 Armstrong Regenerative Receiver,1914 patent, made for Sears Roebuck, with headset. It has two domed tubes with silver tops. The headset reads "W.L.S. Speacial Headset 3000 OHMS". The unit is in good shape. The wood cabinet has a nice stain, with some scuff marks. All the knobs function. This unit is battery operated. With some simple searching on the internet, I was able to research the history of this radio, which involved a patent fight that went all the way to the Supreme Court. I was able to find the original manual that can be printed from Adobe. If you win the bid, please specify whether you want the tubes left in or pulled and packed more safely. I am no expert on these radios, but I will pack it, per your instructions. This radio is a piece of history. If you feel patriotic, bid agressively. I am selling this unit for an 85 year old WWII veteran. His wife is in a nursing home. I am selling it, no commission , so he can pay his bills. Notice the low serial number on this radio. All the ones I've monitored on Ebay have 5 figures. This one has 4. I will ship only to the lower 48 states.
