This rare AUSTIN motor boat measures 12" long NOT counting the rudder. I'm pretty certain is from the 1950's but may possibly be late 40's or early 60's. This boat is all wood with metal hardware in excellent condition for it's age. Everything has been tested and the motor seems good and srong. I have done no cleaning to this piece just tested it with 2 C batteries. The the battery compartment is marked AUSTIN on the front but it's hard to read in photo.It has an unique spring latch on the batterry compartment that allows the metal to spread easily for battery installation but pulls it back tight for a secure contact when attached. The white paint is yellowed I have not tried to clean it for fear of dammaging it. This may have been a kit boat or the bottom repainted for the water line looks hand painted as you can see in photos. Being from this time period the yellowing of the paint may be nicoteen, last photo is a close up of the worst spot in the hull. Red Mahogany isplay stand shown is included and comes with this item.
