This is a vintage early 1900s Art Deco Bursley Ware Charlotte Rhead teapot that is simply stunning. This teapot has an incredible Art Deco shape and design, with a show-stopping glaze. This teapot stands 6 inches tall and measures 9 1/4 inches wide from spout to handle. It has a very detailed blue floral glaze pattern highlighted by a cream background and gold trim. This teapot is marked on the bottom: "Bursley Ware, Charlotte Rhead, England" as well as the hand painted number "TL40, 1". T is also the capital letter "A" that is incised. This teapot has overall crazing to the glaze, which is more pronounced near the base due to everyday use. The inside has crazing and staining from use. Charlotte Rhead pottery is becoming increasingly scarce and does not show up often at auction. This piece appears to be an early one.
