Beautiful old Grace Putnam Bye Lo Baby Doll, Bisque Head, celluloid hands, cloth body. In traditional frog-leg style, it appears to have a 'cry box' inside that no longer works. Marked appropriately on back of neck. No chips or cracks, in superb condition. 13" long. I believe the clothing to be original to the doll. I purchased this from a woman who told me it was her mother's doll. There was an older newspaper article tucked inside the doll's clothing from a Kovel appraisal where she highlighted the section mentioning a 1923 Bye Lo baby said to be worth $1350 - the woman didn't even know the article was in there and said "that was so like my mother to do something like that". I will include this article with the doll. Sleep eyes open and close smoothly. Please write with questions and thanks for looking!
