This is a very rare, very unique and very beautiful coffee pot/oil can. To say the least, I do not know which it is. It could be used as a coffee pot, but I think it looks like the oil can from the movie "The Wizard Of Oz". It looks to be hand hammered, but I am not sure. My pictures don't show much detail, but t are tiny "dimples" or pounding marks all over it which leads me to believe it is hammered. Also, the lid and the handle pieces are not welded on. They have rivets that are pounded in, which is also a sign of a hand hammered piece. It is made of solid copper and this I am 100% sure of. T are no markings of any kind on it. I purchased it from a estate sale, and was told by the woman that I bought it from that it was her grandmother's, which dates it to be from the 1940's. It has a "flip-top" lid and is in excellent condition for its age. T are a few dents and t, but nothing dramatic. The bottom is a little dented as does the lip inside of the lid has a small dent in it. It is very tall, measuring 13-1/2 inches from top to bottom and is 8-1/2 inches wide from tip of spout to end of handle. The base, at the very bottom, is 7 inches wide. This piece of art can be used as a "whatever", or you can just put it in your collection for a truley awesome conversation piece. If you have any questions, write and I will answer them the
