I. P. Hyde Wallpaper Tool with Original Cutter This is an old wallpaper tool, used for laying out and cutting wallpaper, the cutter attaches to the brass channel. It is 6 feet long and marked every quarter inch down the length of it, each inch is labeled and each foot mark is labeled from 0 to 6 feet. T is a hole about 6 inches down from the top which is for hanging it on the wall. I hope that the pictures show everything. The condition is good. The cutter has some corrosion on it but the cutting wheel moves easily and is pretty sharp. It slides easily in the track. The wood has some surface scratching on it, especially on the back near the ends. T is a small gouge near the 4ft mark that I have included in the pictures. T looks to be some dark streaks near the center by the hole and at the other end. I am not sure what those are. The brass is solid on with no problems. It is secured very solidly and has a nice patina. If you want additional pictures, please don't hesitate to ask and I will email them to you so you can zoom in. I am selling this in AS IS CONDITION because of the difficulty in shipping. This is an old antique collectible very usable in good condition " I.P. HYDE TOOL. It is marked I. P. HYDE, SOUTHBRIDGE, MASS., REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. MADE IN USA." It looks like maple and mahogany and has a brass cap down the length of it on the top with brass screws attaching it every 4 inches. The bottom has a brass cap with a channel down the length of it on the front side with brass screws every 4 inches I.P. HYDE COMPANY was a knife and cutlery CO. in SOUTHBRIDGE MASSACHUSETTS back in the late 1800's. Thanks for Looking!
