Vintage Antique Metal Golden Retriever Dog Statue/Vase

Offered for auction is a wonderful vintage statue or figurine of a dog that looks to be a Golden Retriever. The piece depicts the dog lying in front of a tree trunk-he has a wondeful expression-dog owners will recognize it! The piece is made of some type of metal-I'm not sure what kind-maybe bronze or that white metal. It is definitely an older piece and quite detailed and the trunk of the tree is hollow and holds a metal container. I think maybe the piece was intended for display on a desk and would hold pens, etc. It measures about 6.5 inches deep, 6 inches wide, 3 3/4 inches high, and weighs 1 pound 4 ounces. I would say it's in excellent condition for its age-t are three cracks on the back of the tree trunk-I have shown them in the photographs-but they don't detract from the charm of the piece.
