Vintage antique bronze Swiss made cow bell circa 1878. Saignelegier is the town in Switzerland w these bells were made. On the reverse side of the bell are the words Chiantel (name of the company which made them) and Fondeur which means foundry. This bell has a rich patina typical of it's age. You may choose to clean and polish it up but I think the aging makes it look perfect.
This bell measures approx. 5 inches in diameter and 4 1/2 inches tall. I am not a collector of these bells however I did a little research to find out that these particular bells are legendary.
