This is fairly heavy and solid pendant necklace, I believe that it was originally a victorian watch/Albert chain and that the bolt ring was added later to make it into a necklace. The bolt ring is stamped 800, 835 or 850 - it is really difficult to make out but I have taken a close up photo of the stamp for your inspection. I think it is a later addition anyway as it looks a bit tight where it is attached to the chain and it isn't soldered. I think the rest of the chain is at least continental grade silver, possibly Indian, but selling as white metal - I will try to have it tested and add more info over the next couple of days. The chain measures 16 inches and is very well made - the double belcher type links are all soldered (i.e. they don't open) , and have a rope twist detail around the middle of the two joined links which ties the design to the hollow filigree ball shaped pendant or fob, as this also has a rope twist decoration. I added the tassel myself as I thought it looked more attractive with it, but this can easily be removed. The filigree pendant has lost 3 little balls or 'granules' from the filigree work - one big(ish) one from near the middle and a little one from either end (top and bottom). This is not very noticeable but I have taken a lot of photos for you to inspect before deciding on a bid. It weighs 37 grams read more
