Up for auction is a large vintage/antique wood oval picture frame with unusual detailing. The frame measures 16 l/4" x 20 1/4". The width of the frame is 1 3/4". T is no glass with the frame. T are several small spots w the paint has chipped off, but that adds to the charm of the frame. I am not sure what the wood is, but the frame is not that heavy so I am thinking it might be pine. Picture 3 shows the back of part of the frame (t is very thin brown paper on the part of the back). It appears to have been seamed in 8 places (t are lines which appear on the backside measuring approx. 6" apart at both ends and 7" apart on the longer sides -- these do not show on the front of the frame). At one end the gold paint is missing and the underneath color is what I would call a dark red or maroon -- this area is just about 11" in length). I don't know the age of the frame, but I got it many years ago at an antique shop with the intention of putting a mirror in it, but never (as usual!) got around to it.
