This is a very striking vintage quilt but it does have a few flaws so please read the item description before bidding ... The pattern is fabulous, a medallion of leaves, vines, berries and birds that are a BRILLIANT shade of tourquoise with magenta heads. When I bought this quilt on ebay a few years ago I was told this quilt was from the 30's and had spots but I wasnt told that the spots are actually blue paint (shame on any seller who wouldn't disclose that!). I have pictured them and I do not of any way to remove them. They are a cluster toward the bottom edge and one or two ona side edge. So I decided to play with the quilt--t was a stain on the vine and when I spotted it with bleach the vine went from tan to chartreuse green and I really liked it so I bleached all the vine area and it is green with some tan outlining--I like it because it reminds me of fall. But you need to know this before you buy it and this changes its original structure.. I also did the same thing to the binding but not all of it responded so some of it is green and some of it is tan. I am still a little puzzled about why it didnt all change color. It stops right w the binding is seamed so basically one half of the binging is tan and the other is green.... I should have left well enough alone but thats hindsight for you...
