This is the first of 4 quilts that I am listing for Valentines day--make it special for someone special in your life! Who would not love to get these long stemmed roses? Four stems and sixteen blossoms are neatly appliqued to this quilt. The quilt is beautifully made, has paper thin batting, and beautifully hand quilted and hand appliqued. The pattern is from a 50's kit and the handquilting at 8spi is extra nice--t is a large feather wreath within the wreath of roses. And feather plumes run all along the border too. The edges are scalloped and have a hand applied light pink border that is in great condition. The quilt is white and crisp. The only flaws with this quilt is that t are two very tiny light black spots on the front and I have pictured them, They are about pin head size, may have been ink that was treated and bled out a bit but certainly lightened up, they are more of a smoke color. Please see last two photos, but ignore the yellowing coloring--poor lighting. On the back of the quilt t are a few, scattered very light brown spots, the largest is about the size of a quarter, it is pictured, and a similar black spot near the binding on the backside.. Otherwise the quilt is just fabulous with an unusual blue- green leaf and two toned pink roses. No loose appliques or any wear problems. The quilt measures 72" x 86". Bid price is always refundable if your Valentine doesn't love it (I can't help it if she wanted a ring instead.... :>)
