6 Vintage Archie Shine Dining Chairs Robert Heritage HEALS Rosewood Silk Covers Description: A Superb Original set of 6 British Vintage ARCHIE SHINE Dining Chairs designed by Robert Heritage. Circa 1960. Description: A wonderful opportunity to buy a set of 6 original rosewood dining chairs made by the British Furniture company 'Archie Shine Ltd' and Designed by Robert Heritage in the late 1950's early 1960's. Really unusual to find them in the original silk 'sandersons' style upholstery. Simplicity and great proportions are a mark of this manufacturer and designer, the chairs are extremely comfortable with the generous cushioned seats, raised sides and gently curved full back supporting and cradling the sitter allowing good posture even if seated for long periods. This specific set was bought direct from Archie Shine however the same design was also retailed through Heals in the early sixties. British Mid Century Furniture at its finest, the designer Robert Heritage is recognized as being one of the pioneers in sucsessfully launching the Scandinavian style to these shores, where as Archie Shine Ltd have a strong following of enthusiastic and knowledgeable collectors of British Design due to the high quality of their workmanship and materials. Please also have a look at my other items of Furniture, Lighting and Decorative Pieces - View My Other Items For Sale Dimensions: Overall Height 86cm Seat Height 45cm Seat Depth 40cm Seat Width 47cm Condition : Have a look at the super sized pictures they will give you the best idea of condition: Very Good, The chairs are originial with no restoration or repairs, the condition of the silk fabric is excellent with no rips, tears, burns etc, there are one or two small stains of course which will probably clean out over time but nothing of any special note, the joinery on the chairs is also excellent with no wobbles or loose joints, there are occassional small marks to the legs where they have knocked together but only those commensurate with their age - This set of 6 chairs has been very well looked after and cared for. I did notice a small split to a the top of one leg, its old and does not effect the integrity of the chair at all as it still feels extremely solid when rocked or sat in. Delivery: I can arrange an insured personal delivery from my home in West Sussex to any address in the UK at a mutually convenient time, for example: Kent/Hampshire is £35.00, The City of London (Inside the Congestion Charge Zone) is £45.00, The far West Country/ Wales and The Very North of England is around £90.00 to give you some approximate idea.
