Before I describe this item, let me tell you a bit about it's history. It belonged to my oldest Uncle, my favorite. The best that I can figure from other family folks' recollection, he wore it in about 1944-1945-1946. We think he enlisted near the end of World War II. I think I remember he said he served overseas for a tour. Not sure. He wouldn't talk much of his Army years, only to say they were not good memories. I didn't even know he had served in the Army until just before he died. He has long been gone on to be with the Lord and, tho I would love to keep this item, I have no place to store it properly. It deserves better than I can give it. I hope someone will buy it who will appreciate what it stands for and honor it as it should be honored. The folks that wore this uniform fought for our freedom...mine and yours! Even tho my uncle didn't give his life, it took part of his life. Please read all of the following before bidding! You are bidding on a UNITED STATES OF AMERICA military/Army waist length short dress jacket. It is made of dark brownish green (Army green!) wool, a size 36R. The buttons are hidden down the front and on the chest pocket flaps. All buttons are intact. Also included are all the medals and patches and a shoulder braid. It does have some moth holes but none are very large. Still very sturdy piece of clothing. read more
