1941 Remington Rand Streamliner Typewriter w/ Original Carrying Case Serial Number: B104123 Manufactured By Remington Rand - Buffalo, New York - U.S.A Details: You are currently bidding on an antique Remington Rand Streamliner typewriter in great condition. Very similar to the early specimens of the streamlined #5, except that the scale is black rather than red, and the carriage return lever is full-sized and horizontal. Its price was $49.50. The name, of course, draws attention to the Deco styling. The word "STREAMLINER" leans forward, and even has horizontal speed lines flowing across it on some versions of the decal. One aerodynamic typewriter! (The name "Streamliner" was also used on postwar machines which weren't nearly as streamlined.) Condition: All principal operating parts are currently functional and in working order. The carriage can release and lock with ease and the ribbon still has life, but could also possibly be replaced in the near future. It does have a few minor scratches on the exterior black chassis, but nothing that would affect its overall purpose and use. The chrome hardware has been well taken care of and is free from major rust. Keep in mind, this item is 70 years old, and in exceptionally impressive condition for its age. The typewriter also comes with its original carrying case. The case itself is in great condition and closes and locks in place securely. The case features two locking mechanisms to secure the typewriter in place. This auction is a real piece of mercantile history. If you have any questions, feel free to drop me a line at any time.
