VINTAGE ART DECO BRUSH McCOY MODERNE KOLORKRAFT PLANTER Up for your bidding pleasure is this vintage Art Deco design Bluish Green Brush/ McCOY Moderne KolorKraft Flower pot/planter from 1929. This piece measures 3 7/8" tall x 4 5/8" in diameter at the outside rim. I cannot find a mark on the bottom however an example of this piece can be found on pages 68 & 69 in SANFORDS GUIDE TO Brush-McCoy Pottery Book 1 by Martha and Steve Sanford. It states in this book that W. Clare Barnett designed the Moderne Line. Mr. Brush asked him to mold it in a certain way. He told Mr. Barnett how to stack the clay and left him to mold it in the design room during the time the rest of the plant was on strike. Not many of these pieces were made in this line. This piece is in good clean condition with no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs but t is a very small glaze miss to the inside rim and to the base w it sat on pegs for firing, nothing diminishing whatsoever { see photo }. This is really a nice clean piece of rare BRUSH/McCOY pottery to add to your collection. [ GOOD LUCK IN YOUR BIDDING ] All items are sold as is as described and packed for safe travel.
