Note: This item comes fresh from the estate of a wealthy woman born in 1886. Her great-niece has consigned to me many beautiful and old items from her great-aunt's estate; they have been waiting in her attic until now. The family has resided in Maryland for generations. The great-niece is very generously donating all of her consignee proceeds to a wonderful, kid-centered elementary school which is in its second year; let me know if you'd like a link to their web site. I'll be selling items from this estate for the next few weeks - just look for this note on the item page! Unless mentioned below, any variation in tones or moiré effects (digital stripes) are in the photo only, not real.
Description: A great little vintage Modernist Deco tabletop picture frame, in chrome with chrome ball feet. Back is of brown velvet. Comes with its photograph of a dapper gent in a bowtie. A frame that would jazz up any tabletop grouping! Marked "Platincid" - perhaps the maker, or could be an early term for chrome, as platin means platinum in Danish. No glass.
Size: Frame only (without feet) is 4" x 5-5/8".
Condition: Good. Average wear to chrome surface - nothing major. At lower right is a small group of tarnish dots, all pentip-sized or smaller except one which is slightly smaller than 1/8" x 1/16". Some wear to velvet at edges w you fit it into the metal frame. NO other flaws or signs of wear!
Full refund if item is misrepresented in description. Questions promptly and happily answered!
