This is a very hard to find 14" vintage silverplate art deco cocktail shaker with 1 3/4" band at the top which has 15 different very intricately detailed dancing nudes!! And, it has a Music Box In The Base! The nudes are actually raised on the surface, above the background, as if the background was cut away. The bottom portion has a pretty art deco feather band which meaures almost 1 1/2" wide. Measures 14" tall, 4 1/2" across base and 3" at opening. Music box works sometimes when it decides to and sometimes when I manually turn the winding knob. I think that it can be repaired probably with not much difficulty. It seems the control piece on the bottom is not acting to turn off and on the music box, and it may be wound just a bit too tight. Not sure of the song, but I was a music box collector in the past and would say that this has a very pleasant sound with nice tones. I have not mastered how to take photos of items that have great glare factor, so hope you can see beyond the shadows and glare. As for condition, t is no silver loss. This piece is heavily plated. However, you will see from the photos that t is a speckled look to the surface that almost appears as water spotting or spotting of some kind, as is something was splashed at one time. It is not very noticable until close inspection. The splotchy look can be seen best in photo #3 and the photo of the feather border near the base BUT please keep in mind that the photos magnify the look. This piece displays beautifully!!! You do really have to look for the splotchiness. T is a very, very minor bit of light surface roughness, as if the body of the piece has some little tiny, tiny pinpoint pricks. I like to be as specific as possible. Other than the minor imperfections I have described, this cocktail shaker is stunning!! And, even though I have described every little imperfection, I still consider the piece to be in really good condition, but can't say that it hasn't been used. No dings or dents other than one very small ding on the lid that I couldn't get to photograph due to glare and small size. Lid and stopper have cork inserts. Lid says "Pat. Appl'd. for". Base marked with "Meriden S.P. Co. & International S. Co." and what looks like a seated lion. Strainer attached inside spout. Please e-mail any questions you may have.
