Up for auction is a Swing arm Floor Lamp with a design style I have been unable to identify other than I know from the patent mark on the swing arm (Patent 2278720) that this lamp is post 1940. Also a mark on the iron cast weigh states CFC (or CPC/CFC) 1624 - for whatever that means. The Lamp is exceptionally heavy regardless of the weighed at the base. I assume it is a Nickel Finish to the swing arm, and the base appears to be aluminum or steel cast base, but probably aluminum. The bottom looks scratched, but the problem with this is that it looks like it has "scratching" in places where it is unlikely to get surface scratching, so I think it is more of a point of the type of finish. The cord is new (looks within the last 10 years) and the socket takes a standard bulb. It appears to me it was rewired to take a normal size socket, as I have seen sockets this size before and they usually take the large mogul bulbs. The glass shade is molded glass - you can see the line running down the middle that shows it was pressed/molded. From inspecting the screws int he swing arm and seeing the corrosion, there is no doubt this is an old lamp - but the style of the base has me truly stumped as it seems fairly elaborate, but I can not locate it anywhere. Either way this lamp will require restoration. Perhaps you know the maker? I would be read more
