ART DECO/MODERNIST INDUSTRIAL LAMP. The lamp is an original ceiling lamp converted into a table lamp. It is one of a kind and you will not find another one like this. I have fitted a silver braided cord with an amber bakelite on/off switch. The lamp is made by Victor it has FLP 1698 embossed on the side and the base, and Victor embossed on the side, base and top as can be seen in the pictures. The glass shade has ridges on the inside to split the light, it has ARMOURLIGHT 889 FLP1697 and the British kite mark etched onto the shade. The light came from an old aircraft factory and was originally for lighting the corridors hence the split light prism shade. The light could be rewired for ceiling use or could be used as I have used it as a table lamp. The condition is excellent with no cracks or brakes to the shade or the casting. Everything is original to the lamp with the exception of the braided cord and bakelite switch, the original nuts and bolts and the light fitting inside the lamp have all been kept. The lamp is cast aluminium.I have added felt pads to the underside to protect surfaces.
