Vintage Art Deco Period Carlton Ware Australian Design Green Crocus Embossed Bowl This lovely bowl in in excellent vintage condition. It has some light crazing on bottom, on interior and around the smaller crocus designs. We tried to capture this all in the pictures. The bowl has no cracks, chips or stains. The bowl measures approximately 6 3/4" diameter and 3 inches high. The green glaze is an exceptional color and would make a wonderful design element in any room. Pictures number 6-8 capture the marks on the bottom. It is incised 1768/2 and stamped "Carlton Ware MADE IN ENGLAND, "TRADEMARK", REGISTERED AUSTRALIAN DESIGN, REGISTRATION APPLIED FOR Carlton Ware introduced the embossed Crocus range in the late 1930's. This was another addition to a long sequence of flower and fruit designs that are very popular with Carlton Ware collectors. This design was produced in two colourways of light green and pale yellow. The design of pretty spring flowers is very fetching and pleasing to the eye in these subtle colourways. As usual the Carlton Ware paintresses paid a lot of attention to all the finer details.
