Rare Vintage 1960's Arthur Godfrey VEGA Baritone Ukulele.This is a rare 1960's Vega Baritone, Arthur Godfrey Signature Model, Ukulele. It measures only 28.5" Long x 3.25" Deep, which puts it uniquely between a tenor and most other baritones. This one is very easy to get around, and the 19" scale length makes it a joy to play. Other than minor cosmetic blemishes, it remains in exceptional condition. The neck is straight, polished brass frets are level and nicely dressed. Hi-quality tuners are smooth and hold as they should. This instrument is set up with a custom polished bone nut and saddle. For those who prefer the higher standard G_C_E_A_ tuning of smaller ukes, this baritone features Aquila's revolutionary new Nylgut higher tuning strings. Now you can enjoy the ease and enhanced tone of playing a larger instrument, without re-learning anything. The tuning, and consequently all the chords, are exactly the same. This instrument sounds equally as beautiful with D_G_B_E_ tuning; if you prefer, before shipping, we can string it that way with new Fremont Fluorocarbons. This is a wonderful player's instrument! Being a professional musician, our father was very critical of an instruments intonation, tone, and sustain. This ukulele excels in all three areas. It has been well played, but with a felt pick.
