Vintage, Antique, Russian, Turkish, Persian??? Gigantic Copper Platter This item is highly carved and inlaid with painted enamel. The item is old...nice patina to the copper and the enamel has crazed. This platter is absolutely gigantic!!! It is 3 foot by 5 foot. That is right 3' X 5'. Weighs in at about 25 pounds. I have included a wine bottle in one picture as a size comparison. This is a local estate find and i was unable obtain any info regarding the item. I am sure that i do not know what i have....but i will pass my good fortune on to you. This item will be NO RESERVE!!!. T is a spot (photo) that is damaged. The tray was dented and it chipped the enamel. I took a magnet to the tray and it did not stick anyw but the rim. My guess is that t is an iron ring, a frame if you will, to hammer the copper around and to help hold the oval shape. Please feel free to ask ANY question or request other photos. As i do not know much about this item, except that a ton of craftsmanship went into it.....definitely hand made. I would prefer a local pick-up (suburb of CHICAGO) but will ship at buyer full expense. To help with a shipping price, Base it on a package through UPS at 28# and dimmensions of 60" x 45"x 6".
