This auction is for a very beautiful Asian textile that I found in an very eclectic estate recently. I believe it is Chinese, as t were many other antique Chinese items in the house but I will let the experts decide for themselves. The estate that this was from was packed full of the most amazing original artifacts. The same family had lived t forever and had been a very interesting group of people. The mother had been an actress and her daughter was an artist, the daughter recently went into a nursing home. Anyway they had wonderful taste and collected all sorts of Art and treasures and traveled quite a bit. This textile was hanging on the wall and is quite stunning. I wish I knew more about it and how to best describe it. I do not know the exact age but can see that it is clearly quite old and wonderful. It is embroidered on silk in a peacock blue shade. T is a black edging around the blue with delicate multi-colored butterflies all around. The interior has flowing weeping branches and leaves with very regal birds perched on them. T are also beautiful flowers interspersed throughout. Please excuse my photos, it was very hard to capture the lovely detailed workmanship of this beneath the glass. For some of the photos I used a flash so the bright spots are from that and are not discolorations.

The textile measures 24" tall by 10 1/2" wide. It is in a frame that looks like 1960's or 70's era , not the most beautiful thing ever. The frame also seems to be rather heavy. I will leave it to the winning bidder to decide if they want the frame or if they prefer I can remove the textile and save them some money by not having to ship the heavy frame. I will wait until the auction ends before quoting a shipping price. Since I will have the above variables to consider. I will only charge actual shipping & insurance and no added handling fees.
