Neat Chinese Foo Dog pair are made from early Asian coins and measure 7.5 inches tall by a bit over 5" long by 2.5" thick. The pair is in great condition with no missing parts, stains, discolorations, signs of excessive wear or abuse or damages of any kind. I find no country or origin or maker's marks anyw on the pair. I see that both Foo Dogs have handcarved wooden faces with red-painted bulging eyes and rather imposing teeth. Each piece has small wooden feet on either side, as well as a pointed tail. The bodies of both Foo Dogs is made from old Chinese or Asian coins...I see wear and variation in the colors and condition of the money...None of the coins are in poor condition, but some show more oxidation and natural color change than others. I see three loops on the top and bottom sides of each coin, and each piece has a square hole in its middle. Both Foo Dogs appear on wooden gold and red bases, and I see that each animal wears a hat, made of what looks like coconut fiber, with a gold wooden spire at its top.
