we have one of the rarest cocktail shakers out t It is the Ships Lantern made by Asprey of London. These were made by hand in the 1930's. Very few of these exsist partly because they weren't mass produced and the blown glass didn't survive if droped like a metal shaker would. This is in extremely good condition with no dents, dings, or scratches. Only very fine polishing scratches. The very top of the cup has very slight discoloration. The glass is perfect. No chips scratches or fleabites. Has a couple tiny manufacturing bubbles in the glass. Asprey is one of the finest makers of fine custom made jewelry, silver and custom made giftware in the world. Take a look at some of the items they offer. They are truely incredible. They were made in two colors red (port) and green (starboard) They may have produced one in clear. The bottom is marked as follows: A&Co, ASPREY, LONDON, 6331, MADE IN ENGLAND, REGD No 862460. You can see a red one made by Kingsway plate on pg. 57 of Vintage Bar Ware by Stephen Visakay. I have looked on the internet for these and can't even find a picture of one of these made by Asprey. Several references to how rare they are but that's all I can find. ***** I was just informed by the person who asked an earlier question that you can see these Red Green and the Clear Asprey shakers at ***** Click on cocktail read more
