Hello! We are offering for auction a vintage Atwater Kentradio model #275, which was manufactured in 1933. At that timehis factory in Pennsylvania was the largest manufacturer of radios in the country. However, when he realized the market was moving towards cheaper models, he closed his factory in 1936, rather than compromise his name or the integrity of his product. The 275 model was an AC/DC set which received shortwave as well as broadcast bands. The styling is very Art Deco, with chevron styling on the sides, and a beveled top. All knobs are present and work (turn easily). Still has original gold fabric, although it is rotting a bit w it connects to the wood. All tubes are present, as well as the original cloth wires and plug. I believe it even still has the original wire antenna. T is a switch on the bottm of the back, don't know what that is! The wood case is battered and the paint is chipped. I do not know if this works. The wires on the radio are so natty that I refuse to plug it and see if it works! Overall, considering it is about 75 years old, it is in very good condition. The case is still solid (no wobbles, and it still has all the original knobs, tubes, wires, cloth, etc. This is a fabulous opportunity to restore a very popular vintage radio! T aren't that many of these around any more! (Radio is VERY heavy, so shipping and handling will be a bit high because I will package it well. Please bear that in mind when bidding! Also, S&H is for lower 48 only!)
