A lovely set of vintage Avery weighing scales. These would originally have been used in a sweet or grocers shop. This set will weigh up to 2lb, making them ideal for use in a domestic kitchen as well as a small commercial outlet. They are extremely heavy, being made of cast iron with an enamelled surface. The enamel is overall very good . There is just one chip to the bottom back right corner and a little surface scuffing along the top of the scale and corner edges. There are two mirrors with the Avery logo, designed to be seen from front and back. The mirrors are a little foxed in places. The bowl is stainless steel and is in excellent condition, supported on a stainless steel cradle with 4 rubber pads. The scales are supported on 4 adjustable feet. When adjusted to stand level the pointer is perfectly at '0'. Picture 11 shows a 4oz weight in the bowl which shows how accurate these weigh - they are spot on. These scales have a reservoir of oil which is accessed through the chrome cover which says 'vibration regulator'. This lubricates the mechanism and prevents the pointer springing back and forth before settling at the correct weight. Measures:51cm high x 32cm across the widest part of the scale. The base measures 20cm wide x 30cm deep I am happy to send these scales by courier delivery and will pack very well with instructions
