VINTAGE BAKELITE HUGE HAT BROOCHES PINS MABLED BUTTERSCOTCH BLACK need tlc NR! Description: Offered: From the estate of a lifelong collector, I am listing a large and varied collection of authentically old Bakelite. Each piece is Simichrome tested. Each piece was purchased the hard way, one by one, years ago, before the Internet revolution. These pieces are all fresh from a local estate. I specialize in Georgian and Victorian jewelry. Bakelite is not my area of expertise, please forward any questions you may have prior to bidding.Lot of 2 vintage estate Bakelite hat brooches, these are large, each measuring approximately 3 inches across the underside of the brim. The butterscotch one has detached cherries although they are present. The black hat does not test positive for Bakelite with Simichrome but is Bakelite, in my experience, black does not pass this test, ever. The cherries on the black hat are just hanging on by a thread. Please note the great gathered brims on these hats. A minor project to restring the cherries but worth it for these incredible examples.
