Payment VINTAGE BALLANTINE LIGHT LAGER SALT & PEPPER 50s-60s This is a pair of promotional salt & peper shakers distributed by P. Ballantine and Sons Brewery of NewARk, NJ. These are late 50's early 60's vintage and the shaker cans are Ballantine's Light Lager. Each shaker is about 2 1/4" tall and 1 1/4" in diamter, so the pack is roughly 3 1/4" tall by 2 1/2" wide. Ballantine gave these promotional items away to bars and restaurants that served Ballantine Beer and Ale, but they were also passed out to local luncheonettes, delis and other eateries that didn't even have a liquor license. They provided advertising at a grass roots level for the great old brewery. The shakers and their case are both in excellent condition. So, if you'd like to own a little piece of Ballantine Brewery history, it is for $2.00! Since many of the items I put up for auction are vintage or antique pieces, please, expect that they will have the normal wear and imperfections common to older items.
