We enjoy collecting vintage BARBIE dolls and clothes and sharing our great finds with you. We also ask you to read the entire description and look at all the pictures. We describe as completely and accurately as we can, and show everything in the auction,we want you to be pleased, AND we want YOU to be positive what you're getting! *** The way we grade our items is below the description! *** This auction is for Barbie's dress from her very first Wedding and it is called "Wedding Day Set" from 1959.This ensemble is truly wonderful and WE HAVE NEVER had one as nice! The dress is made of pure white satin with a very full skirt.The over-dress and long train are tulle and are accented with white flocking and silver glitter.This dress has long tulle sleeves and double-tiered overskirt. The veil is plain white tulle caught by a ring of pearls.Her other accessories include a blue tulle garter with two flowers, a string of graduated pearls, short white gloves, and white open toes (one marked Japan).Plus; Barbie's bouquet consists of silk flowers, with a lace ruffle and ribbon streamers. Just let us know we are including a long pair of white tricot gloves also;because the short ones are bit dingy. This #972 ensemble is in near mint condition with no holes, rips, or fading. The only things to mention are that at the neckline it is a little rough (but in normal range)that some of the glitter is gone, and the vintage black and white Barbie tag but is frayed a little.The short gloves are a bit dingy, so are the streamers, and the pearls on the veilhave lost some of their luster.All this is just normal age wear and we still consider this outfit in near mint condition. Don't let Wedding Day get away; you'll love it and most importantly, so will Barbie! Barbie is not included in this auction; she has a long modeling career ahead of her! :-) *********************************************** SPECIAL NOTE: We purchase our Barbie items from many different places. We never know w they lived before, so we don't know if they lived with pets or smokers. We DO launder the items in our outfits (except Satin; only when needed)and store them in plastic bags and bins, so they're clean when they come to you. MINT- Still in original packaging (we never use mint because we feel that means only NRFB) NEAR MINT OR MINTY - Item out of original packaging but does not appear to have been played with very much; No visible flaws. EXCELLENT- Item MAY have been played with and/or may have very minor flaw or need light laundering, which we try to note.This also means all buttons and snaps are present. GOOD- Item shows definite signs of wear/use. May have small spots, stains, or tear, etc. which we try and note. FAIR to POOR- Item is TLC or probably best used for parts. *********************************************** Don't forget... unusual antiques make great gifts.
