This is a stunning 1950's Venetian glass table lamp, attributed to Alfredo Barbini . The lamp is not signed, does not have a sticker, but the style of the work speaks for itself. Several pieces of glass fruit in the same style were purchased with the lamp out of the same estate, one of those bearing an Alfredo Barbini sticker.

At 3-1/2 feet, the table lamp is monumental. It has a brass base with felt on the underside. The body is made of five (5) separate mouth-blown segments, each of clear gold flecked glass, tightly fitted together. Except for the fountain-like girdle, which is solid glass, the other segments are hollow. The bottom bel-shaped piece is decorated with four raised flowers. The main column is ribbed and decorated with two curved leaves. The lamp is topped of with the usual brass hardware: turn-knob switch socket, detachable lyre and a finial.

The lamp WORKS PERFECTLY. It has the original cord with two prong plug.

THIS IS A UNIQUE PIECE, WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO LOCATE ANOTHER LAMP LIKE THIS.

PLEASE NOTE: Although some of the photos include the original lamp shade, we are in fact selling the lamp WITHOUT LAMP SHADE , since the shade alone has some damage, and is a bulky item to ship. Furthermore, most people prefer to match their own decor. However, if the buyer wishes to refurbish it, we will be happy to include the lamp shade in as is condition at no extra cost. Size: Height = 15-1/2" (39.5 cm), Diameter = 17" (43.0 cm).

CONDITION: THE TABLE LAMP : The lamp itself is in excellent condition. The GLASS is in PERFECT condition, no scratches, chips or cracks. The body of the lamp is firm. The top brasswork has age appropriate patina. T base has slight speckling on the brass which are either light spots of oxidation or a form of antiquing. Either way it adds a bit of nice age character to the brass.

THE LAMP SHADE : The shade has damage both on the outside (one spot of torn fabric) and inside (a vertical seam seperated. The shade is also yellowed somewhat from tobacco smoke.
