UNKNOWN VINTAGE BASS GUITAR. Recently we sold a Dallas Tuxedo bass that was virtually identical to this in many many features. Lets put it this way, they were DEFINITLEY made in the same factory. Now, the Dallas bass we had was the first ever British made bass guitar from 1959. In that I dont mean it was actually the first off the line, but it was the first model of bass guitar ever made here in Britain. This has an identical neck profile and fingerboard, body thickness and neck joint, pickup and bridge.... in short, VERY SIMILAR to the Dallas. Anyway.... As youi can see its a through neck construction, twin cutaway solid body electric bass guitar. The body is 1 1/4" thick. 30 INCH SCALE LENGTH. The bridge is a very simple chromed steel plate with keyhole string anchors and a bent / raised bridge section. The single coil neck pickup is very dull and thuddy and about one fifth the output of a Precision bass. Identically to the Dallas, the A,D and G strings are all of similar volume but the E string seems quieter. The controls are a volume and tone pot with white SG type knobs. The pickguard is 2 ply black and white and looks to be original. The output jack is on the lower edge. The jackplate is quite elaborate and looks original. THE CIRCUIT IS NOT ORIGINAL.
