Up for bid is a Vintage Portable Bell sewing machine with handy carrying, storage case and some accessories. This sewing machine was the smallest sewing machine made in its time (smaller than a singer feather weight). It is made by the Bell Co. in U.S.A. The size of the case is 13 1/8 inches long by 6 3/4 inches deep and 7 1/2 inches height(handle not included in height measurement). The machine is in good working order and looks very very nice also. Looks like it has not been used very much. T are a couple of surface scratches on the metal plate of bed. T is a black button on the bed of the sewing machine that when pushed pops open the cover feed plate to give access to the bobbin. The bobbin case and a bobbin are inside. T is a light under the top of the machine for easy viewing while you sew. The light switch is on the back of the machine. T is a working reverse and forward switch on the front. Includes the foot pedal and 6 foot cord (both in very very good condition) for operation of machine. Has the Good HouseKeeping Guarantee seal on back. I did turn the machine on and it works and the light comes on. Machine seems to work fine, but I did not run any stitches as I am not sure how to thread the machine. I tryed to tread it and did get the bobbin thread to come up. The tension most likely needs adjusting. It has a regular sewing foot , a zipper foot and a couple of different sized hemming foots. T is a ruffler attachment but not sure it works with this machine. All the attachments were with the machine when I bought it. The case has a nice large storage area for all your sewing needs and the foot pedal and cord store inside top of case. The case is in good condition and only shows minor paint wear to the outside edges. The color of the machine is a jadite green.. It is closest to the color shown in picture 2 but because of the lighting conditions in my house the color may vary slightly in the pictures. This machine I believe was made in the 1950's. I have included a picture of a newspaper ad for the machine I found on the internet. A nice machine that goes anywere you go! Great for quilting and traveling! Display nicely for sewing machine collectors also. Buyer to pay shipping and handling. Payment is due within 7 days of end of auction. Please e-mail me with any questions before bidding. Item sold as found and as I described above. Thank you for looking and HAPPY BIDDING!
Created by eBay Blackthorne ver. 188.8.131.52 I forgot to mention that t is a tabletop bracket for this sewing machine. The machine is removeable from the base of the storage case. You can then use the bracket to attach it to a table for more working room if needed. I did not take a picture of it, but will send you one if you need it. It is like new. The machine is really very very nice, and looks much better (brighter lighter green color) than the pictures show. No broken parts to the sewing machine, it is in excellent condition.
