Up for auction is a vintage Ben Buckle Red Zephyr kit. I purchased this at an estate sale and am passing it along to you. I already have one of these in my "collection" and I can tell you this is a great flying airplane. You won't be doing any aerobatics with the Red Zephyr, but if you're looking for a slow flying plane, this is the one for you. Mine is very stately as it circles the field. The wingspan on mine is 70" and the length is 55". I've included a photo of mine so that you can see what it should look like. Since it is a polyhedral wing it is very stable. From what I've found out, the Red Zephyr was an old free flight model and this one has been upgraded so that you have 3 channel radio control. I'm not sure how old this kit is, but it's pretty old as far as I can tell. This one also looks as though nothing was ever taken out of the box. I would think a .25 or perhaps a small 4 stroke would do just fine on a model like this. I really didn't look in the box too much as I didn't want to mess anything up. I have an old .40 on the one I have and it's way more than enough engine. I would think electric would do nicely as well. I also am a modeler so ask any questions that you may have and I'll answer as best I can. This is a no reserve auction with a fair minimum bid. I would think shipping to be $15 to $20 depending on where read more
