Up for auction is an old lube pump from a gas station or mechanic shop. It is marked on the handle (not the crank handle) BENNETT on one side and what looks like 25 H on the other side. T are so many layers of paint on it, the letters are hard to see. This was made by Bennett Pump Company, which made oil, lube and grease dispensers, gas pumps and other items for service stations back in the 1930's era. It is easier to find brochures about these pumps than to find the actual pumps. This one was still in use and had over a gallon of lube in it. We pumped it out to weigh it for shipping and it worked perfectly. The lube was real clean. The plastic hose on it is in good condition and must have recently (within the last few years) been replaced. Everything else looks original. We tried to wipe off as much exterior dirt as we could and a lot of the paint came with it, showing the metal underneath. T is a wooden knob on the end of the hand crank handle for easy turning. The open end of the hose has a metal hook end that rests in a small opening on top of the unit. Measures about 27" tall. Dings, dents and peeling paint but nothing major. Just look it over in the photos and let me know if you need more pictures. This would great for the classic car buff or the guy who has his vintage gas station in his back yard. Or any automobilia collector.
