This rare vintage Black Boy Eating a Watermelon While Taking a Bath String Holder is from the 1940's-50's and measures 7 1/2" high and 6 1/2" wide. It is marked on the bottom side of the wooden tub, "ATCO". It is made of chalk and is in excellent condition. The paint is all original. The string comes out of the side of the wooden tub where there is a leak due to an improper fit of the wooden plug! Extremely detailed and wonderful! A must for any serious Black Americana collector or for any serious string holder collector! This string holder is listed in the 2003 "Garage Sale & Flea Market Annual" Price Guide on page 450 for $645.00. See the addtional photos below that we have of this fantastic string holder.
