Vintage BLACK FOREST CARVED WOODEN WALL/ SHELF BRACKET supersize image supersize image supersize image supersize image supersize image supersize image supersize image supersize image Description: A well-carved wooden wall bracket with shelf which folds up when not in use. It is carved with vine leaves on the backplate and the stem of the vine has been carved into the folding shelf support. The shelf is shaped around the outer edge. Each piece has brass hinges. It is made from a lightweight wood which is stained dark brown. It was probably made in the 'Black Forest' of central europe, and my guess is that it dates from the first half of the twentieth century. Condition / Defects: The wall bracket is in good condition; the shelf is not quite horizontal, and it has a couple of surface scratches, consistent with age and use.
