Vintage Black Forest ? German Wood Carved Pipe Up for auction is this really neat old Black Forest? German Carved Pipe! The pipe measures about 8" long and is in great condition. I'm not sure I have the top bowl on the right way. The carving on the pipe is wonderful depicting a carved stag deer on the bottom bowl with either black painted or glass eyes (can't tell)and carved running deer (2) on the upper bowl. The pipe comes apart in 3 places with a few - 2 (see photo) splits in the wood on 1 of the joints. The lid is a silver metal and the hinge and clasp work. T is writing on the inside of the lid but this is all I can make out: "E? SILBER". As you can see the top piece/stem of the pipe is missing. Except for the missing piece and being lightly used, this is a wonderful smoking pipe to add to someone's collection! Happy Bidding !!!
