Beautiful, vintage umbrella in black naugahyde or vinyl case. Has carved rose detail on the handle and a green plastic gemstone on the end of the handle. Cannot date this, but would imagine maybe 1930s - 1940s. And, this is strictly a guess on my part. The umbrella, itself, is made of a very light and sheer black fabric (it is waterproof, though) which feels almost like silk. The fabric is in perfect condition and has a snap closure with Zane on it.The handle is of a different metal than the rest of the umbrella shaft. I do not believe it is sterling because I cannot find any stamping to indicate that. The paint (red and green) is wearing away but it only seems to add to the vintage look. The gemstone on the bottom is not chipped but has some surface scratches. The vinyl case has two missing teeth but still operates perfectly.A wonderful collectible umbrella to add to your collection.
