This week I am listing LOTS of exceptional antiques, collectibles, jewelry, barkcloth fabric, lace, old photos and more! Thanks for taking a peek!! Check out my other items ! is the most strikingly beautiful peacock wall hanging! Looks very Victorian to me!! My photos don't begin to capture the fine quality and attention to detail in this magnificent peacock perched on a branch with glorious pink/red flowers and fine greenery! It is done on rich black velvet and trimmed in antique gold metal braid! The braid has long since darkened, but I bet it would polish up well. I will leave that up to the buyer as it's so close to the velvet, I don't want to risk harming the fabric. At the top you can see two gold medallions of vintage cording! On the back it has been attached to a narrow strip of wood at the top with a small bracket to hang it on a nail. You can see the very old small nails used to attach it! All the gold braid was hand stitched on to the velvet!! Great workmanship throughout!! It measures almost 19" wide and 27" long. Again, SO much finer than my photos show! Almost has a 3-dimensional quality! A wonderful, rare antique treasure! In excellent condition!!
