Because t are a lot of fakes out t, I was hesitant to list this blacksmith-made, D-guard knife. When I sell items that are being reproduced at the drop of a hat, I always extend the examination period to 14 days after receipt of the item. I am doing so with this knife. I believe it is right. It is approx. 28" long, the blade being just a shade under 23". T was a break at the top of the D, and I believe when the repair was made, the placement of the nail securing the guard to the end of the wood grip had to be moved, making it off-center. You can see w the original nail entered the top of the handle / grip. The iron is repaired at that point, which I think is clear enough in the photo. T is a small nick out of the blade about 3.50" from the tip. The handle appears to be Oak or Chestnut...(my husband thinks it might be Hickory ??), and it has the appropriate patina including w it is attached to the iron. T was a chip out of the handle that probably was created during the repair process and it too has patinated . T are no ifs, ands or buts about the return policy for this D-Guard knife. If you do not think it is authentic after the 14 day inspection period, return it for a full refund. Pers. checks must clear prior to shipping. Shipping, Handling and Insurance in CONUS $20.00.
