2 VINTAGE BLUE BALL PERFECT MASON JARS,HALF GALLON & QUART Both of these special jars are embossed with "Ball Perfect Mason". The "Ball" name on these jars is in script writing. They were made by the Ball company between the years 1900 - 1933. They are a deep blue color...the result of the minerals in the Lake Michigan sand that was used in their manufacture. The bottom number on the 1/2 gallon jar is 9...the quart has the # 8. I bought these old canning/fruit jars from an Amish family in Holmes Co. Ohio. For generations they were a necessary part of a yearly harvest from their gardens and orchards. The jars are in excellent condition for their age because they were treasured by this family and handled with great care. To buy these 90 year old jars is to have a real piece of true Americana history. How great is that? You can't find that at Walmart. You can be sure they will look fantastic in your home decor....as decoration at a country wedding...as a great craft project....or just use your imagination!!
