Antique Blue Bristol Glass Vase with White Casing inside and Handpainted Enamel Flowers and Butterflies Circa 1880 This is a beautifully decorated vase and the blue color is a bit softer than a pure turquoise. Enameled by hand with two varieties of flowers, lush leaves and a butterfly which was very popular with Bristol Glass. The white interior casing is another characteristic of Bristol Glass which was produced throughout Britain between c. 1760 and c. 1825 and continued on with expanding production elsew continuing to around 1920. This particular vase is almost 6" tall and with a 4" wide mouth that is scalloped around the edge. The vase is narrow at the base and white, then it gradually turns into the beautiful Bristol Blue with subtle perfection. The pontil mark on the bottom has been polished smooth and the enamelled flower decor is still in excellent condition. However, t is one tiny tiny chip right on the edge of the mouth above the butterfly which I have photographed for you. We always take great care in shipping, just check out our feedback. We also combine shipping whenever possible to reduce the cost to you. Insurance is required on this rare vase and included in the shipping costs. For questions please email us at:
