On auction mint fully polished Esterbrook 1551 fountainpen in a lovely blue mottled pattern, doubled jewelled, it has the traditional pattern these pens have. I thinkdates around the 50's. I have tried to show as much detail as photography allows. This pen has been tested, received a new sac, ready to use with your favourite ink and is fully working. For you collectors, I see many grey, green and copper colours ot these panes, not seen many of this blue. The Barrel: I did give this pen a full polish, this pen is absolutely mint, it is a superb good example of these pens, no scratches, dings or bite marks. It says Esterbrook made is USA one side and is crisp to view . The filling system is a lever that is well polished and fully operational. The Cap: Again has been fully polished with the metal bright and gleaming with the usual ribbed pattern and says Esterbrook on the clip. The usual tripple band on the base of the cap. The threads are solid. The nib: Is a nice write. It says Esterbrook 1551 a nice fine write, very smooth made in USA, firm with a little give . material is steel and is perfect This pen is 4.75" length (125mm) with the cap on This will be properly packed.
