BOOSEY & HAWKES EMPEROR TENOR TROMBONE Serial Number: 396566 (which dates it to around 1965) As you may have seen from my other instrument listings, I tend to specialise in 'nearly new' student level brass and woodwind instruments. However, if you like your trombone to have a bit of "history", this lovely old (nearly 50 years) Boosey & Hawkes silver plated trombone may be just what you're after! It's in very good condition for its age - the main slide is very smooth, and the tuning slide operates freely too. The silver plate is almost 100% as you can see from the photos. It's picked up a few dings here and there, but they are purely cosmetic and don't affect playability. It comes with a Yamaha mouthpiece (engraved 43) and a new ABS case.I'm not a trombone player so can't tell you too much about the technical side - hopefully the photos will help though.Just above the serial number (396566) are the letters "LP", in case that means something to you. How do I come to have it for sale? Good question! My daughter and her fiancé got married in November - she plays the cornet, and he plays the trombone in a Yorkshire brass band. My wife was doing most of the flowers, and needed a vintage trombone (to go with an old cornet we already had lying around) to produce some unusual floral arrangements for the reception room.
